Challenges and Solutions
Travel guru Rick Steves has a plethora of information he shares with travelers on his website. The publisher's goal was to incorporate these resources into the content of the Rick Steves' Pocket Guide series to create an on-the-go travel guide. The primary use case was for the traveler who was already in the destination city.
+ Enhanced original content by adding links to all listings, allowing the user to view listings on their in-device default map application and to call businesses directly from the content.
+ Added audio tour guide snippets from Rick Steves' extensive audio library at point of use. Users are now able to listen to the audio tour while accessing tour content (text, images, maps), all from their mobile device.
+ Enhanced existing map images to include popup text, resulting in a "guided tour" feel.
