Challenges and Solutions
The publishing team at Thieme (an imprint of Wolters Kluwer) wanted to create a learning tool from print content that capitalizes on the advantages of the digital platform, without compromising the quality of the original illustrations.
+ The original content was enhanced to provide interactive learning experiences by:
- Adding a "Compare" button to view more than one illustration at once
- Combining illustrations to show progressions of dissection.
- Customizing the self-study learning tool by toggling only certain labels "on" and "off"
- Adding an assessment mode in which the user is required to type in the labels for an illustration
+ The hi-res illustrations look even more beautiful on-screen, and users have the ability to pan and zoom to enjoy a level of detail that is not possible with the original print content.
